To My Dear Friends and Family,
If you have come to this page you undoubtedly already made the decision to donate to this year's AIDS Walk. For this I am very grateful. I began raising money for GMHC 17 years ago. Every year I am truly honored, surprised and mostly inspired by the generosity of you, my supporters.
The journey since I lost brother, Howie in 1995 has been an emotional one for me. I've educated myself about GMHC and learned how the money raised from the annual AIDS Walk betters the lives of individuals and their families.
If you would like to learn more about where your money goes I am happy to help you with that information. But also know the support I receive from dedicated friends like you makes GMHC's work possible. People living with HIV/AIDS need reliable services, caring assistance and effective advocacy - and with your continued support GMHC does just that.
Unfortunately, Howie not only remained closeted, he was terribly embarrassed and felt stigmatized by his diagnosis. He never sought help. He didn't know of GMHC. With your help, we are changing that and making a difference. The stigma associated with AIDS has decreased. Education has increased.
I thank you for your renewed commitment every year.
I thank you for your gift of hot meals, legal assistance, counseling, testing and very importantly awareness.
In memory of my brother, Howie, I will continue this fight to live in a world free of AIDS where there is no need for GMHC.
“I slept and I dreamed that life is all joy. I woke and I saw that life is all service. I served and I saw that service is joy.” – Kahlil Gibran
I end with GMHC's slogan: "END AIDS. LIVE LIFE."
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page and making a donation to
AIDS Walk New York.
With so much love in my heart I am forever grateful,
