The Jasons - 8020
Dear Generous Family, Friends, and Colleagues,
Many of you know that Jason and I have raised money for AIDS Walk NY since 2010. The event is typically held in May, but it was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. After rescheduling to an early June date, the walk was later postponed again in recognition of the protests and uprisings that have taken place in support of racial justice and Black Lives Matter.
To be honest, we debated whether we would participate in the virtual AIDS Walk this year given everything that is going on in the world. However, we have decided to move forward as we recognize that the AIDS epidemic, as the coronavirus, disproportionately impacts Black and Brown people. We continue to support this cause knowing that it is offering testing, programs, and treatment to people who would otherwise suffer in silence.
Year after year, we have been humbled by the generosity of everyone that has enabled us to surpass our fundraising goals. This year, we recognize that there are many worthy organizations and causes that are seeking donations. Please know that we will appreciate any amount that you contribute.
As always, all donations will be directed to Gay Men’s Health Crisis (GMHC) and more than 40 other tri-state area AIDS service organizations. GMHC is the nation’s oldest and most comprehensive AIDS service organization, serving approximately 15,000 people living with HIV and AIDS each year, as well as countless more through its prevention and advocacy work locally and nationally. Your support is greatly appreciated!
