AIDS Walk New York will celebrate its 35th Annual event on June 7, 2020, later than usual due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead of thousands walking through Central Park, we will participate in a reimagined streaming event, AIDS Walk New York Live at Home.
Like many nonprofits, GMHC faces new financial challenges to carry out its mission in the face of a national economic crisis. I remain committed to AIDS Walk New York this year, my 11th year walking, and I hope you will join me in supporting their efforts.

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect the entire nation in so many ways. People living with HIV are among the most vulnerable populations for COVID-19 infection. Many also suffer from other conditions such as diabetes or cardiovascular disease that put them at higher risk for complications from the virus.
As the eyes of the nation turn toward New York City as the epicenter of the pandemic, GMHC has responded head-on, conducting regular wellness calls for more than 1,200 clients, delivering two weeks’ worth of meals to the doorsteps of people living with HIV, and implementing remote service delivery for its mental health, substance use, workforce development, supportive housing, financial management, nutritional counseling, and legal programs, using videoconferencing and other technologies.
So, I’m walking in spirit… to support GMHC and those living with HIV in this difficult time and to END AIDS once and for all. I hope I can count on your support.
